About the Editor

Dr. Blane Covert teaches Upper School English at Little Rock Christian Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas.

His teaching awards include the following:

• The 2001-2002 Meyer Endowed Chair for Teaching Excellence.

• The 2002 St. Vincent College Excellence in Teaching Award.

• The Pulaski Academy Class of 2003 Favorite Teacher Award.

• Selections to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.

• The 2007 Stephens Award, an honor presented by the City Education Trust of Little Rock to recognize excellence in classroom teaching.

• The 2023 Little Rock Christian Academy "Serving Well" Faculty Award, voted on by the Upper School Students.

Covert holds four degrees:  a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree, both from Harding University; an Educational Specialist’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; and a Doctorate in Education from Oral Roberts University.
